Modern ethics is 2000 years behind

Cultural Studies still uses many of the analytical tools of the Marxism/ Semiotics/ Psychoanalysis fusion, but focuses even more strongly on a new critical triumvirate: race/class/gender. We think we are so enlightened, but this race/class/gender triumvirate is actually the modern west’s rediscovery of what the New Testament discussed 2000 years ago. Liberal academic thought is only rediscovering what was always there in western civilization’s ancient moral foundation: Paul’s letter to the Galatians, chapter 3, verse 28 –
“There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”

Paul is sounding a lot like Jesus, who told stories about the Good Samaritan, took time to talk to the Samaritan woman at the well, let the woman caught in adultery escape with her life, criticized the religious elites, and who was criticized himself for being friends with tax collectors and other undesirable groups.
