my favourite 'coming of age' films

In no particular order:

• American Graffiti (though I've never seen the whole thing)
• Stand by Me
• Trainspotting
• Fast Times at Ridgemont High
• Dead Poets Society
• The Graduate

The film that most reflects my own coming of age experience is Dead Poets Society for my teenage/early 20s years (with a bit of The Graduate and Trainspotting), even though I wish it was Fast Times at Ridgemount High. The film that best reflects my earlier childhood is Stand by Me.
